Jan Lefebvre is a lifelong storyteller with deep roots in the heart of Minnesota. Growing up in Melrose, Minnesota, she absorbed the rich traditions of her German immigrant heritage—values of hard work, family loyalty, and genuine kindness—that shine through in her writing. With over 25 years of experience teaching English and theatre arts, Jan has inspired countless students to appreciate the beauty of literature and performance. Her career also spans writing and editing for Midwest newspapers such as Dairy Star and Country Acres.
Drawing on the quiet heroism of her own family—especially the remarkable lessons learned from her father and his beloved bachelor brothers—Jan brings to life the extraordinary stories of everyday individuals in her novels. Today, when she’s not crafting her next narrative, Jan enjoys traveling, celebrating local culture, and spending cherished moments with her husband Mark and their twins, Jackson and Emma, at their lake home in northern Minnesota.
